Bundo Khan founded Ekra Decor in 1998 and serves as its Chairman. The company is headquartered near IGI Airport in New Delhi and has stayed privately held under its founding leadership for twenty-eight years — which is the single fact that explains most of how it operates.

What follows is an account of the business he founded rather than a biography. Every figure on this page is one the company publishes elsewhere on this site and can be checked against it.

What was built since 1998

Ekra Decor designs, engineers, fabricates and installs pre-stressed membrane structures as one in-house team rather than subcontracting the parts. The record is 61 documented projects across 36+ cities, from stadium and auditorium roofs to car-park shades, covered walkways and entrance canopies, in all four membrane families — PVC, PVDF, PTFE-coated glass and ETFE film.

Keeping design, engineering, fabrication and installation under one roof is a structural choice about accountability. When the survey, the drawings, the steel, the membrane and the tensioning all belong to the same team, there is no boundary for a problem to fall across. It is also why the company declines work it cannot stand behind rather than passing it on.

The standard set at handover

Every project runs through an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality process, and what leaves site is a documented structure rather than a finished-looking one: as-built drawings, mill certificates for the steel, a structural stability certificate, and an O&M manual. Design calculations cite the codes they were run to — IS 875 Part 3 for wind and IS 1893 for seismic.

Behind that sits a written warranty: one year on the structure and workmanship, and five to fifteen years on the membrane depending on the fabric grade. Both are the company’s own, not a manufacturer’s pass-through — which is a harder promise to make and the reason it is worth stating.

Where the work is visible

The clearest account of what the company builds is the work itself: the entrance canopy at IGI Airport, Terminal 2, the courtyard roof at Vasant Square Mall, the covered routes at ILBS Hospital, and the canopies at Hazratbal Dargah in Srinagar, where snow rather than wind sets the governing case.
